It’s that time of the year again. Summer is sadly coming to an end and a lot of us are preparing to go back to school. Forget all the typical school supplies, like binders, pencils, and pens, let’s talk about the other essentials that will keep you comfortable and confident. Here are a few products I think are absolute back to school essentials for your beauty bag.
Keep your hands clean. You never know what yucky things you might touch at school. You can’t always run to the washroom each time your need to wash your hands. Reserve your bathroom breaks for real emergencies and use hand sanitizer to quickly clean your hands.
Dry hands aren’t very attractive. They can feel uncomfortable, which can be very distracting. Moisturising your hands throughout the day is great for keeping the skin looking healthy and hydrated.
Oil Absorbing Sheets
You might get shiny throughout the day, so oil absorbing sheets to quickly blot are a good idea. I prefer using sheets instead of powder to blot oils because I don’t like adding on makeup. Blotting sheets are great to use because they will remove excess oils from your face without removing your makeup.
Cracked, dry lips aren’t fun. Keep a lip balm close by at all times. Just like your hands, your lips will thank you for keeping them moisturised throughout the day.

My hair is probably my most prized feature. It’s naturally straight and it’s never been chemically treated. I’m very lucky to have soft, silky, low maintenance hair. Although, there are a few products I like to use to “enhance” my hair’s softness and shininess.
I’ve recently been introduced to a brand called Inecto and I’ve been loving their Pure Coconut range of hair care products. All of these products areparaben free, high in antioxidants, and contain 100% pure coconut oil. A lot ofhigh end hair care products areparaben free, butcan be really pricey. All of theseInecto products are super affordable and are available at London Drugs,Pharmasave, and Select Apple Drug Mart, Army & Navy and Save On.
Moisturising Shampoo & Conditioner
I like to use shampoos and conditioners that specifically claim to be moisturising. It’s the first step to getting a silky smooth mane. From time to time I like to switch it up with a volumizing shampoo and conditioner, but mostly I stick to moisturising. These are great affordable shampoos and conditioners. The shampoo cleans hair very well without making it feel stripped and dried out. The conditioner will leave your hair really soft and it doesn’t weigh it down.
I use a deep conditioner every so often just when my hair needs an extra boost of moisture. When my mane doesn’t feel as soft any more I just use this and it’s completely remedied. Using deep conditioners like this one will help prevent split ends and return moisture to dry hair. The Inecto Pure Coconut Intensely Hydrating Hair Repair Treatment is powerful and lightweight. I just use it in the shower instead of a regular hair conditioner and my hair feels softer and healthier right away.
I absolutely love this leave-in conditioner by Inecto. Not only does it make my hair super soft and shiny, but it’s also a heat protectant. It works really well and it’s one of the most important products keeping my hair soft and silky smooth. I just spray it on my hair when it’s damp and let it air dry. It’s gives great results while being really quick and easy to use.
Frizz & Fly-Aways
Even though I have straight hair, the strands coming from the base of my neck are always frizzy and dry looking. I use this Inecto Pure Coconut Smoothing Hair Serum and it works perfectly. It smooths them out and they look a lot healthier and controlled. All you have to do is use squeeze a pea sized amount of product into the palm of your hand and run it through your hair. I like to focus it on the ends of my hair and those strands coming from the back of my neck, then I brush through my hair, and let it air dry.
Ultimately, the trick to getting a soft, silky, smooth mane is to pay attention to the warning signs and treat them accordingly. If it’s feeling dry– it’s time to pull out the deep conditioner. If your ends are separated and frizzy– use a serum. If you notice a lot of split ends– it might be a result of heat damage and you need a good heat protectant.

Have you ever woken up, looked in the mirror, and saw a massive spot on your face? Or have you ever felt a spot forming underneath your skin? I know I have. I’ve recently been introduced to a brand called Skin Chemists and I absolutely fell in love. These are a few of their products which I’ve tried that can help tame and treat acne. I would recommend these products to anyone looking to get rid of acne, and also to anyone trying to get rid of acne scars.
If you have waken up with an unexpected spot, you’ll need something intense and fast-acting to quickly tame it. The Bee Venom Repair & Protect is made with real bee venom and Allantoin. Both are great for healing the skin. Bee venom also has anti-aging and anti-bacterial properties, which can prevent any further skin damages and blemishes.
This works really fast! I put this on a blemish that I could feel forming underneath my skin and the next morning when I woke up it had risen and was ready to pop. This is the first product I have ever tried where I saw such visible results overnight. If you’ve tried many acne spot treatment products and none of them seem to work well enough for you, I would highly, highly recommend giving the Bee Venom Repair & Protect a go. I no longer fear waking up with unexpected spot now that I know I have this in my arsenal.
To assist in the further prevention of spots, I like to use a face mask that unclogs pore and gently removes dead skin cells. The Rapid Facial makes the face look a lot more luminous as well as reduces the appearance of pigmentation left by acne. I love the smell of this, by the way.
GET RID OF YOUR ACNE SCARS
If your skin takes an exceptionally long time to clear up acne pigmentation, like mine does, then you will need to add an extra product to help you out. The Lightning Serum does just that. It is specifically formulated to lighten and correct any signs of hyperpigmentation. Along with acne scars, it can also reduce the appearance of age spots and other irregular pigmentations.
I know these products are pricey, but you really get what you pay for. I suggest singling out your biggest skin concern and pick the product that caters to it. Whichever one of these products you choose you will not be disappointed.
